Last Saturday my friend Craig and I decided to pay a visit to Vancouver for their yearly hot chocolate festival.
As usual we had audacious plan. The goal was to try 10% of the offering of this year's "chocolintage".
That boils down to 5 or 6 hot chocolates...

First stop Temper Pastry

Picture
Hot chocolate at Temper pâtisserie in North Vancouver, my favorite so far.
Our first stop was also my favorite hot chocolate of the day, here is a cacao infused with tonka bean, and licorice stick. Perfect!

On to Chocolate Arts

At Chocolate Arts we tried the Malt Teaser, here is their description of the drink :
Made with our signature blend ‘Allure’ & Aberlour 10 yr single malt whiskey. Served with a malted shortbread coated in chocolate.

Thomas Haas on Broadway

Unfortunately for us, and fortunately for our blood sugar, Thomas Haas on Broadway was out of their Mumbai meets Paris, hot chocolate.

Terra Breads

At Terra Breads, we tried their honey buns hot chocolate, based on Mexican flavors, this cacao combines vanilla, with cinnamon and chili powder.

Quick stop at Beaucoup bakery

Despite the fact that Beaucoup Bakery, wasn't taking part in the hot chocolate festival, we still stopped for delicious croissant and pain au chocolat.

Final hot chocolate of the day  Lucky Doughnuts & 49th Parallel

We tried their now best seller, Bee's knees lavender infused hot chocolate, served with biscotti and marshmallow...
